Common questions

How much does hacking cost in Singapore?

It depends on what comes out, the area and how easily the debris can be carried out. We quote each job after seeing it. Send Kayler a photo and your unit type to start.

How long does hacking take?

A tile job with hacking usually takes 5 to 7 days from hacking to grouting.

What are the rules in an HDB flat?

Hacking needs an HDB renovation permit, which a registered renovation contractor applies for. Noisy work is allowed from 9am to 5pm on weekdays only, not on weekends, public holidays or the eve of New Year’s Day, Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali or Christmas. It must finish within 3 consecutive days, and only 2 handheld power tools can run at a time.

Can you hack a wall in my HDB flat?

Only a non-structural wall, and only with HDB’s approval. Structural walls, columns and beams cannot be hacked. Your floor plan shows which walls are structural, and we check it at the site visit.

Do you take the debris away?

Yes. Debris is bagged, carried out and taken to a disposal site. It is part of the quote.

Can I get hacking without a new floor?

Yes. Most of our hacking jobs end with a new vinyl or tile floor under one quote, but tell us if you only need the hacking and we will price that.

Do you work on condos, shops and offices?

Yes. Condo management sets the hacking hours, and most ask for a renovation deposit. For a shop or office, your landlord or building management approves the work first. Tell us the floor area and the date you need the space back.

HDB rules from HDB’s important information on renovations, checked 02/11/2026.
