We do not publish a rate per square foot for wall panels, and we would be a little wary of anyone who does. A published number can only be right for one wall, and the wall it is right for is the easiest one: a flat, sound, square wall with no sockets, no openings and no awkward corners. Most walls are not that.
The six things that move the number
| Driver | Effect |
|---|---|
| Core material | The largest single swing. SPC and PVC composite cost more than MDF core, and we only fit the first two. |
| Profile depth | Deeper slat uses more material per square metre than shallow fluting. It also shows misalignment more, so it takes longer. |
| Area and height | Obvious, but ceiling height matters more than people expect. A wall over about 2.7m may need a joint, and where that joint falls is a design decision. |
| Existing wall condition | Panels follow whatever is behind them. A wall that needs making good or levelling first is preparation work, priced separately. |
| Cuts | Sockets, switches, aircon trunking, a door architrave, an inside corner. Each one is hand work, and this is where a low quote usually cuts. |
| Edges and corners | How the panel meets the ceiling and the skirting, and how external corners are handled. The difference between a considered wall and an applied one. |
The range we fit: Vellera, four series
Twenty-six finishes. Groove fluted battens at 2800×168×23mm, Element and Linear large-format sheets at 2600×950×4mm, and Compact flat tile at 610×305×5mm. A few of them:

What a complete quote should itemise
- The panel, named. Core material, profile and finish, not just "wall panel". A quote that does not name the panel leaves room for a different one to arrive.
- Wall preparation, separately. If the existing wall needs levelling or making good, that should appear as its own line rather than surfacing as a variation once work starts.
- Trims and end caps. Internal and external corners, ceiling and skirting junctions. These are what the finished wall is judged on.
- Electrical cut-outs. How many, and who is responsible for refitting socket faces afterwards.
- Making good. What happens to the wall behind if the panels ever come off.
Ask for the labour to be shown separately from the material. It is the only way to compare two quotes that name different panels, and it is the same principle we set out for tiling quotes.
Why a one-day fit changes the maths
Panelling looks expensive next to paint and cheap next to carpentry, and the reason is the labour. A stud-and-board false wall is roughly a week of work with wet trades, dust and floor area lost to the build-up. A panelled feature wall over a sound existing wall is usually a single day with no hacking.
That is also why the condition of your existing wall matters so much to the price. The one-day figure assumes the wall is ready. If it is not, the preparation is a real cost and an honest quote will say so before starting rather than after.
The warranty position, stated plainly
LN's 25-year material warranty covers our LVT vinyl flooring only. It does not extend to wall panels. We warrant our own installation workmanship for one year. If a contractor offers you a long product warranty on a wall panel, ask who is underwriting it and get it in writing.
What we will not quote
Common corridors, lift lobbies and staircases, which are escape routes with a strict surface flame-spread requirement, and balconies and external walls, which fall under external-cladding rules. Inside the unit only.

Common Questions
Wall panels are quoted per project rather than at a published rate per square foot. The cost depends on the core material, the profile depth, the wall area and height, the condition of the existing wall, and how many cuts are needed around sockets and openings. A published rate can only be right for the easiest possible wall. Send Kayler the wall dimensions and a photo on WhatsApp at +65 8118 5520 and you will get an estimate the same day. The site visit is free.
Usually one of three reasons. The panel is MDF core rather than SPC or PVC composite, which is cheaper and swells at a cut edge once moisture reaches it. Wall preparation has been left out and will appear as a variation once work starts. Or the trims, end caps and corner details are not included, and those are exactly what the finished wall gets judged on.
Considerably, and the difference is labour. A stud-and-board false wall is roughly a week of work with wet trades and dust throughout, and it eats floor area. A panelled feature wall over a sound, level existing wall is usually a single day with no hacking. That assumes the existing wall is ready, which is why its condition matters so much to the price.
The panel named by core material, profile and finish rather than just "wall panel". Wall preparation as a separate line if any is needed. Trims and end caps for internal and external corners and the ceiling and skirting junctions. Electrical cut-outs, with who refits the socket faces. And what making good involves if the panels ever come off. Ask for labour to be shown separately from material, or you cannot compare two quotes that name different panels.
More than people expect. Beyond roughly 2.7m a wall may need a horizontal joint, and where that joint falls becomes a design decision rather than just a material one. Higher walls also mean more handling and more cutting waste, both of which show up in the labour.
No, and this is one we decline rather than quote. Balconies and external walls fall under external-cladding rules, and common areas such as corridors, lift lobbies and staircases are escape routes carrying a strict surface flame-spread requirement. We fit panels inside the unit only.
No. LN's 25-year material warranty covers our LVT vinyl flooring only and does not extend to wall panels. We warrant our own installation workmanship for one year. We would rather set that out plainly here than have you find it out during a dispute.
